UOW Pulse volunteer named the Illawarra Young Volunteer of the Year
Congratulations to UOW Pulse volunteer Uthman Mohammad Farache on being named the Illawarra Young Volunteer of the Year at the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards Regional Ceremony.
This recognition reflects Uthman’s extraordinary commitment to the University of Wollongong community, where he has contributed more than 330 volunteer hours across 111 shifts while balancing full-time study and employment. Through programs including Play Free Sport, Breaky Bar, Kindness Workshops and Cultural Events, Uthman has consistently demonstrated leadership, generosity and a genuine passion for supporting others.
As a Volunteer Leader and Wellness Ambassador, he has helped create more inclusive, connected and welcoming experiences for students across campus, making a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of people.
We are incredibly proud to see Uthman’s dedication recognised at a regional level and are excited to see him represent the Illawarra at the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards State Gala Ceremony in Sydney this December.
