The Pantry is a free food support service for current UOW students experiencing financial hardship. Items are displayed on shelves and assigned point values instead of dollar amounts. The Pantry’s core goals are to reduce food insecurity and ease financial stress for UOW students. By providing access to nutritious, high‑quality items, we help students avoid relying on cheaper, less healthy alternatives and support their overall well‑being.
Pulse is proud to acknowledge the dedication of our student volunteers, whose hard work keeps this service running.
Pulse Pantry is funded by Pulse and the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). Stock is purchased from UOW’s Village Grocer or donated by generous partners including Aspire Catering & Events, Gillette, Kotex, OzHarvest, and Share the Dignity.
Sustainability is another key focus. Around 90% of our products are suitable for a vegan diet, and we do not offer meat products to help reduce emissions, particularly those associated with cold storage.
