National Student Volunteer Week

National Student Volunteer Week runs from 9 – 15 August, acknowledging and celebrates student volunteers, and promotes volunteering to students and young people across Australia. This year, UOW Pulse will be celebrating the amazing work of our Pulse Volunteers online.

330 Pulse Volunteers have contributed 2,179 hours across 2021 so far, through the challenges of online learning they have continued to contribute to the program and the wider community. Our volunteers have been so important to the facilitation of our programs, from handing out free breakfasts and assisting at the Pulse Pantry. Our volunteers also facilitate our weekly Play Free Sport activities and keep UniBar gigs safe, we couldn’t do it without them.

We currently have Pulse Volunteers working on projects with external charities and organisations such as the Cancer Council, Landcare, PCYC, and Age Matters through the Community Volunteering Project. They are sure to put their amazing skills to use and benefit these organisations as much as they have the UOW student community.

Thank you to our Pulse Volunteers for all that they do to enhance the student experience on campus!
